Our History
In 1977, George Edward Allen and his wife Virginia, had set out to build a construction company founded upon integrity and trust. The belief was that these principles and solid construction knowledge would lead to long-term relationships and successful construction projects. By beginning every project with these values, GAC has grown into a multi-faceted general contractor specializing in the construction management of railroad facilities in over 36 states with lasting partnerships created along the way.
Our Culture
Our management team comprises of highly qualified professionals with several years of experience in all facets of construction. Many team members have been with us for 10, 15 or even 20+ years. Our goal has never been to be the biggest construction company but rather the best - large enough to tackle any construction project but just as nimble to pivot to the client’s changing needs.
Our Relationships
For the past 45 years, we have completed thousands of projects in the transportation, commercial, education and civic industries. Along the way we have developed a niche and built long-lasting relationships with repeat clients that include most of the Class 1 railroads in the country, including BNSF, Norfolk Southern, Canadian National, Union Pacific, Metra, Amtrak and other railroad entities.
