Amtrak ADA Compliance and SOGR Upgrades – Ottumwa, IA
The Ottumwa, IA Amtrak station project enhances accessibility and modernizes infrastructure with ADA-compliant upgrades and State of Good Repair (SOGR) improvements.
ADA Compliance:
Work includes removing and replacing the existing platform, underground supports, fencing, and drainage systems. Structural upgrades involve helical piles, concrete pile caps, and new grade-level track crossing panels. The project also features tactile warning surfaces, stormwater piping, galvanized fencing, and refurbished canopy columns and beams.
SOGR Improvements:
Renovations focus on salvaging and refurbishing steel canopy columns installing new electrical systems, lighting, roofing, and guardrails. The team replaced concrete walkways and drainage systems, updated signage, and restored steel components off-site to ensure durability. All elements were reassembled to align with architectural and structural plans. This project underscores a commitment to accessibility, safety, and modern functionality for the Ottumwa community and Amtrak passengers.
