Amtrak ADA Stations Program – Longview, TX

George Allen Construction completed upgrades at the Longview, TX, Amtrak Station to bring the facility into compliance with ADA standards. The team constructed an 810-foot-long, 13-foot-wide concrete passenger platform with lighting and installed required egress systems in compliance with NFPA 130. They created an accessible route connecting public access points, parking, drop-off zones, and station entrances.
 
Additional work included installing Amtrak-branded ADA signage and relocating the wheelchair lift enclosure with a new locking mechanism. The crew updated platform lighting with modernized controls and installed new circuit breakers and a lighting control panel inside the station to enhance electrical systems. These improvements ensure the station meets accessibility standards while providing passengers with a safer and more functional environment.
