BNSF ARGENTINE YARD LMIT - High Bay South Wall Masonry Repair
The project included interior and exterior window replacement and tuck pointing. The heavily traveled interior concrete platform walkway needed to remain open while construction was underway. GAC built a scaffold system above the concrete platform, creating a walkway under it for daily use. We also disconnected the crane rail/busbar in sections so we would not disrupt the overhead cranes' full service, allowing BNSF to continue with their daily tasks. On the exterior of the building, we utilized a trolley system and electric hoist to pick up window and siding materials to a height of 90 feet. The trolley system traveled to 400 feet above the scaffolding, allowing us to install the wall panels without using a daily crane, which reduced flagging and track outages with considerable savings.
