BNSF ARGENTINE YARD LMIT - Low Bay Addition

Kansas City, KS

The Low Bay addition project included the construction of a new building extension and tuck pointing of the existing structure. GAC replaced the track and track slab, installed a new light tower, and was responsible for soil stabilization and tank removal, utility reconfiguration, and re-alignment and shimming of all the rails. The project was completed in three phases allowing BNSF to continue operations while the construction was in progress. To expedite phasing and shutdowns, GAC worked 12-hour days six days a week as needed for a successful project. We coordinated our work with BNSF and the BNSF Track crew through each phase. By thinking ahead, we allowed a future electrical project to move forward in this area to prevent future track outages causing fewer disruptions.
