George Allen Construction, Amtrak, and local leaders celebrate the completion of the Longview, TX station restoration project in anticipation of future high-speed rail service. With a ceremonial ribbon cutting, GAC, Amtrak, and local officials celebrated the renovation and restoration of the 1940’s Amtrak station.
George Allen Construction is feeding 1,209 people this Thanksgiving and donating 15 turkey and trimmings food baskets to those in need! Earlier this November, GAC office and field employees dug deep into their pockets and donated to the MorningStar Mission Ministries for their Thanksgiving Holiday Basket Drive. MorningStar Mission Ministries is a non-denominational organization dedicated to relieving the spiritual and physical hunger of the poor. With every gift of $2.48, someone in need in our community will receive a warm meal.
Originally built in 1913, GAC was tasked with restoring the Amtrak train station and replacing the exterior platform, so it complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act. GAC is proud to be one of a select group of contractors that have passed the rigorous qualification process and been approved to participate in Amtrak’s ADA Stations Program (ADASP) to make their nationwide network of platforms and train stations ADA-compliant.
